"You are free to choose, but you are not free from the consequences of that choice" - Anonymous
In order to provide a positive learning environment, please read and explain to your child the following classroom rules, rewards and consequences. Please understand that these rules are meant to teach them, not punish them, as well as to ensure a structured class setting. All rules will be explicitly modeled correctly and incorrectly the first week of school and reviewed as necessary. Class Rules Listen when others are speaking Follow directions the FIRST time they are given Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself Raise your hand before you speak or leave your seat Respect others and their property Behavior Expectations Be a good listener Be respectful to everyone Be safe Be the best student you can be Our class practices a positive behavior plan
Behavior is monitored on a clip chart in conjunction with Class Dojo. A student can move their clip up for good behavior (earning 5 points) and will move down for disruptive behavior (losing 5 points). Students with 100 points or more at the end of the week will be able to participate in various weekly rewards. Points are reset every Monday.
If a student chooses to break the rules: 1st time: warning (begin losing dojo points) 2nd time: warning and move clip down (5 points lost) 3rd time: move clip down and lose a privilege of teacher’s choice (10 points lost) 4th time: move clip down again and contact parent (20 points lost)
